At the corner of Crown Square and Vale Street, an impressive red brick building. The three storey building was erected in 1887. It is a block of two sections and was designed for Clwyd Pierce as a delicatessen with shop and incorporated warehouse. This explains the difference in fenestration at upper levels and the door at second floor level on the Crown Square elevation which would have been for using the hoists in order to lift materials into the warehouse. The bricks, with terracotta detailing, were provided by J.C. Edwards of Ruabon.
