Circular Cast Iron Urinal, Mill Lane, Bedminster
This rather splendid cast iron structure formed a traffic island at the intersection of Malago Road, Mill Lane, Paul Street, & Providence Place. There has been massive redevelopment since the time of my photo & I believe only the first named of these roads still exists. I've calculated its position by using the 1913 25" OS map on which it is marked, see: LinkExternal link . It is not marked on the 1903 edition. Known locally as the 'Green Goddess' it was dismantled in the late 1960s & parts are apparently in store in the 'M Shed' Museum.

Date of photo uncertain but circa 1966.
