Hull Solar Gate
The Solar Gate is the white edifice, and is affectionately known as "The Cheese Grater". It has apertures which align with the sun at a specific date and time to illustrate one of the 16 commemorative discs.
Also visible in the image is Queens Gardens, sited on the location of Queen's Dock, previously "The Old Dock", the largest dock in the UK when it was opened in 1778. The relevant commemorative disc is illuminated at 14:15 on 22nd September.
