Until a reorganisation of county councils in 1974, the Tees formed the border between Yorkshire and County Durham on the opposite bank.
River Tees

The River Tees is a major river in Northern England. It rises in the Pennines on Cross Fell and flows 85 miles eastwards to its mouth at Redcar.
