The Drove Road at Crowcombe Combe Gate
The Drove Road at Crowcombe Combe Gate
The Drove Road is an ancient track (possibly Saxon or even earlier) used for goods to and from Watchet. Now this stretch is part of Macmillan Way West
Macmillan Way West
A 102 mile branch of the main Macmillan Way ( LinkExternal link ), parting at Castle Cary it crosses the Somerset Levels and the Quantocks and can be linked with the South West Coast Path National Trail at Minehead. It then crosses Exmoor and follows the Tarka Trail to Barnstaple, again linking with the South West Coast Path. Macmillan routes thus enable a 346-mile walk across England from Boston to Barnstaple.
