Remains of the Kirkstall Forge
Remains of the Kirkstall Forge
These ruins are grade 2 listed (list entry 1256648) and it is hoped that they can be preserved or enhanced as part of the major housing development now starting on the remainder of the site. See also SE2536 : Remains of the former Kirkstall Forge.
Kirkstall Forge development

The site at Kirkstall Forge is being redeveloped to provide commercial and residential buildings and a new railway station. The former factory buildings were cleared several years previously, and development was delayed by the recession. The railway station has been built during 2015, and will open by Easter 2016 (having suffered several unexplained delays), and construction of the first commercial building is planned for 2016. A new access road has been built to the station from Abbey Road near the junction with Hawksworth Road.
