The park occupies the grounds of the original West Royd House SE2134 : West Royd House, Farsley.
Westroyd Park, Stanningley

West Royd was the mansion of John Butler (died 1884) who made his fortune as manager of the Stanningley Ironworks. The house itself, grade II listed, is now converted to flats, and its grounds are a public park with facilities including rose garden, tennis courts and a bowling green.
