Carved stone plaque by the A591, in parish of Lakes (South Lakeland District), South edge of Rydal village, opposite Manor Cottage, set in dry stone boundary wall, on Northeast side of road. Windermere stone, erected by the Ambleside turnpike trust in the 19th century.

Inscription reads:-
