Statfold Barn Railway - American locomotive
Statfold Barn Railway - American locomotive
Ryam Sugar Company No. 1 may look like a toy locomotive with an over-sized cab but is actually a rare and beautiful beast in the UK. It is an 0-4-0 tender engine built as works number 1650 in 1918 by Davenport (Davenport, Indiana). It was used at an Indian sugar mill and came to Statfold in a very deteriorated condition in May 2013. It returned to steam in March 2015 and still looks magnificent 4 years later. In front is Corpet 0-6-0PT of 1884 - the site's oldest working engine.
