This 18 arch bridge was constructed by the Belfast and Dublin Junction Railway between 1845 and 1852 to a design by J.B.Macneill. The viaduct is built from granodiorites of the Newry Igneous Complex quarried at Goraghwood a couple of miles to the north along the railway line.
