This route which passes under the Craigmore Viaduct (seen here in the background) links Bessbrook and Newry.
Craigmore Viaduct

This 18 arch bridge was constructed by the Belfast and Dublin Junction Railway between 1845 and 1852 to a design by J.B.Macneill. The viaduct is built from granodiorites of the Newry Igneous Complex quarried at Goraghwood a couple of miles to the north along the railway line.
