The Auld Kirk at St Monans
The Auld Kirk at St Monans
Dating back to the 13th Century, the Auld Kirk stands in a dramatic site at the western end of the village. The church was built by King David II to give thanks for his survival after his ship was caught in a storm whilst crossing the Firth of Forth.

In 1544 the church was burnt down by the English and was rebuilt to become the parish church in 1646. Having fallen into disrepair in 1950 it was again restored to its final beauty as it is today.
