J1286 : Platform, Lough Neagh

taken 17 years ago, near to Antrim, Northern Ireland

Platform, Lough Neagh
Platform, Lough Neagh
During WWII the navy used this platform, on Lough Neagh, for testing torpedoes. It is now in a doubtful state but provides a home for birds including (in this photo) cormorants. Not on the “at risk” register but perhaps it should be.
