Chee Dale: silhouettes with pushchair exit Chee Tor №2 Tunnel
The Monsal Trail runs from Bakewell to Blackwell (near Buxton) and follows the track of the old railway which closed in 1966. It opened in 1981 but it is only since 2011, when the lighting was installed, that the main tunnels have also formed part of the route. However, the one we are in is not long enough to require lighting.

The couple with child in pushchair are emerging on their westbound walk.
