Pilot Vessel Collingwood
Pilot Vessel Collingwood
The Port of Tyne's pilot boat "Collingwood" in rough seas as it brings the pilot to a cruise ship outside the entrance to the River Tyne.

The Collingwood was named after Lord Admiral Collingwood, the Newcastle-born hero of the Battle of Trafalgar. It was designed and built by Pembroke Dock and launched in 2008, the first example of a mainstream aluminium pilot boat to be used in the UK.
