Interior, St Edmund's church, Hunstanton
The growing population of Hunstanton in the 19th century prompted the need for a new church to be built in the seaside town envisaged by Henry L'Estrange Styleman le Strange, Lord of the Manor. St Mary's church already existed in Old Hunstanton.
Work started on the new church in 1865, and it was consecrated in 1903. The architect was Frederick Preedy.
The church is 120 feet long and 58 feet wide. It is built in Carstone with flint and red chalk, dressed with various other types of stone. A tower and spire were planned but never built.
The nave has north and south aisles, and there is a baptistery with three modern windows at the west end, as well as two chapels.
The chancel arch has a rood from 1934, and the chancel is several steps higher than the nave.

There are numerous Stained glass windows, including more modern ones.
St Edmunds is a relatively "high" church.
