The Grade I listed church LinkExternal link on Oxford Road is by Joseph Aloysius Hansom. The foundation stone was laid in 1869 and the church opened in 1871. The tower was added in 1928 as a memorial to Father Bernard Vaughn S.J, rector of the Holy Name from 1888 to 1901. It contains a chime of bells by Gillet and Johnson.
