Redundant Monsters
Redundant Monsters
Closed in September 2018, these redundant concrete cooling towers at Eggborough Power Station, look eerily silent having belched out steam since the 1960s. I found the following website recently: LinkExternal link. It shows, in real time, the UK's power electrical consumption and generation. Often, coal-derived electrical energy is shown as 0.0% and obviously, Eggborough is no longer needed. It is said that the site may be converted to a gas power station in the future.
