Scree on Pinkie Shank
Scree on Pinkie Shank
Excellent screes have developed on the valley side of the Harthope Burn by Langlee. The rock here is hard and durable, comprising andesite lavas of the Cheviot Volcanic Formation (Devonian). Sadly, gorse and bracken are invading this periglacial landscape.
