Saltmarsh and bridge, Loch Slapin
Saltmarsh and bridge, Loch Slapin
The extreme tip of Loch Slapin doesn't get flooded during each tide, so grass has a chance to establish itself between the drainage channels. The B8083 from Broadford to Elgol goes around the tip of the sea loch and crosses the Abhainn an t-Sratha Mh˛ir at the foot of Beinn na Cr˛. The colours are particularly striking because the late afternoon sun is illuminating the saltmarsh directly from the side Link while thick cloud cover is directly overhead.
