On National Cycle Route 1 (Summer only)
National Cycle Route 1 splits at the Black Isle into summer and winter alternatives. The summer route traverses the Black Isle and then uses the Cromarty to Nigg ferry to cross the mouth of the Cromarty Firth. This year the ferry started on June 1. National Cycle Route 1 is a route of the National Cycle Network, running from Dover to Shetland and is 1,695 miles long. The image shows two cyclists bound for Cromarty boarding at Nigg.
