Lock sidepond near Knowle, Solihull
The replacement wide locks in the Knowle flight were built in the early 1930s with pairs of side ponds used to maximise efficiency in use of water. These were operated by boat crews using pairs of ground paddles. Link The sideponds are no longer used.
