Robotic mower
According to a sign nearby, City of Edinburgh Council are trialling robotic mowers on the steep slope between the Mound and Mound Place. Safety features include auto-stop and motion sensors. The mower is security protected with a pin code, alarm, and GPS tracking. The trial is being carried out in partnership with Husqvarna UK, the manufacturer.
The mower seems to move around the slope completely at random, and doesn't seem to be all that efficient at cutting the daisies.
