A rather bland landscape that has history.

The brown area in the foreground was originally sandpits, later refuse dump.

The roadway led to the Whiteinch vehicle ferry which succumbed to the Clyde Tunnel.

On the far bank is the former Merklands Wharf, dealing with timber and animal lairage.

The tower blocks, from the 1960s, are at Broomhill.
River Clyde

The River Clyde rises in the Southern Uplands and flows generally north-eastward to meet the sea west of Glasgow. The river is 109 miles long (third longest in Scotland). It was an important river for shipbuilding in the past.
