Station Street signs, Station Street, Chatteris, Cambs
Affixed to the side of the Cross Keys Hotel. Underneath is another sign saying "formerly Cross Keys Lane from the year our Lord 980 to 1845". Chatteris Station was on the line between St. Ives and March. It closed to passengers on the 6th March 1967, one of the many casualties of the Beeching Report. The station was demolished in the early 1970's. The station site and nearby trackbed was used for the new alignment of the A141 road.
