Dumbarton Academy on Church Street, Dumbarton
Only the façade remains, hence the blue sky showing through the windows. The tower still dominates the Dumbarton skyline today.
October 2009, Robert Henry adds:
In more recent times it was the Burgh Hall. A fire badly gutted the building in the 1970s leaving a shell which was recently pulled down leaving the facing supported by the steelwork seen. This has been done to preserve the façade while a completely new interior is built - sometime, perhaps, maybe. Some time after the fire, a new purpose-built Burgh Hall was constructed to the rear (east) side of the building for local municipal purposes.
