Snape Maltings: footbridge in memory of Ursula Nettleship
This footbridge over the flood defences at the side of the Snape Maltings concert hall is dedicated to the memory of Ursula Nettleship (1886-1968). Ursula Nettleship was a singer, voice coach and music administrator: after serving the Council for the Encouragement of Music and the Arts (CEMA) in the Second World War, she became choral director of the Aldeburgh Festival. She was the dedicatee of Benjamin Britten's "A Ceremony of Carols".
