Curious cutting patterns in wheat fields
Curious cutting patterns in wheat fields
Wheat growing across a significant area of land between the villages, Stillington and Thorpe Leazes has been cut, (but perhaps not harvested), into curious, apparently random, geometric patterns. It's likely that the crop in any event has not been ripe enough for harvesting anyway. At first sight the appearance is that the spaces between the standing crop have been cut to the level of stubble, but that's not so; only the ears of the wheat have been removed with the bulk of stems and leaves still standing.
