Glasgow Cross railway station (site), Glasgow
Glasgow Cross railway station (site), Glasgow
Opened in 1895 by the Glasgow Central Railway on the line from Newton to Maryhill and Dawsholm, this station closed in 1964 and the street-level buildings were demolished. This part of the railway line however is still open.
View north west on Gallowgate towards Argyle Street, Maryhill and Dawsholm. The station was underground, but airshafts from the street above still allow the frequent trains to be heard.
