Looking up to the Monument
This is a view up the top section of Grey Street from the junction with Market Street to Grey's Monument at the top. Grey Street was the premier street of Richards Grainger's remodelling of Newcastle city centre in the 1830's, and is reckoned one of the finest Victorian streets in Britain. The building on the right is Lloyds Bank built in 1837 as houses and a bank.
