Glasgow tramcar 1088 in the Riverside Museum
This photo shows tramcar 1088 which was one of several Standard tramcars introduced into service in the 1920s. It was modernised with a Hexagonal Dash panel during World War II, and had 24 seats on the lower deck and 38 seats on the upper deck. The destination board indicates that it is going to Kirklee via Charing Cross in Glasgow city centre, not to be confused with Charing Cross in central London. A dressmaker shop can be seen to the left of the photo.
