Stewartby Station
Stewartby Station
The short, narrow and rather basic platform two at Stewartby has been improved by an attractive tub of flowers. The station was called Wootton Pillinge until 1935.

In the background are the chimneys of the former Stewartby Brickworks - at one time the largest brickworks in the world, employing 2,000 people and producing 500 million bricks each year. It closed in 2008. Although listed structures, the four remaining chimneys have been approved for demolition due to fears over their safety. Current plans are for the site to be redeveloped for housing which could include the construction of a replica chimney.
