St Mary, Kirkby Lonsdale - Rose & Crown memorial
The panel on the east face of the obelisk (listed grade II, 1318956) is a memorial to five women and girls "burned into eternity" when the Rose and Crown hotel caught fire in December 1820. [Not, as Historic England have it, the "Hose and Crown"].

See SD6178 : St Mary, Kirkby Lonsdale for the whole monument.
