taken 5 years ago, near to Coventry, England

The spire of Christchurch
The spire of Christchurch
The spire of Christchurch is a survivor. Originally the tower and spire were part of Grey Friars founded in 1359, the Friars was demolished in 1542 leaving the tower and spire standing. In 1829, Christchurch was built around the tower and spire. The new church survived the Coventry blitz of 14 November 1940 but was destroyed by a bombing raid on Coventry on 8 April 1941. The blue roof on the right is part of The Wave, a building containing a wave pool.
