The complete circle in its dramatic setting.
Castlerigg Stone Circle is thought to be one of the earliest stone circles in Britain. Dated to circa 3000 BC, almost 100 feet (30 metres) in diameter with 38 of the original 42 stones remaining. There is a rectangle of standing stones within the circle. Under the care of English Heritage.
