NY3505 : A walk around Rydal Water [13]

taken 5 years ago, near to Rydal, Cumbria, England

A walk around Rydal Water [13]
A walk around Rydal Water [13]
A ford and stepping stones carry the bridleway across the un-named stream.
From near Rydal village, the walk circumnavigates the beautiful Rydal Water. The lake is both supplied and drained by the river Rothay, which flows from Grasmere upstream and towards Windermere downstream. One of the smaller bodies of water in the Lake District, Rydal Water is very popular because of the connections with William Wordsworth.
