The bombed ruins of a medieval church and Wren Tower made into a charming scene by imaginative planting of wall shrubs and climbers, and an effective fountain. An outstanding example of a small City space, which makes the maximum use of scarce resources. Designed by the City of London Architects and Parks Departments in 1971. It won a Landscape Heritage Award in 1976. Off Roehampton Lane.
It appears to be a myth that Robert P. McCulloch thought he was buying this bridge rather than London Bridge back in 1968. A successful businessman, McCulloch would have had enough savvy to know exactly what he was purchasing. In any event, the purchase served to put a hitherto little-known part of Arizona firmly on the map if a London media report is to be believed.
