From the bridge carrying the path over Rydal Beck, is Low Fall. The late 17th century summer house on the bank is known as 'The Grot' and it is listed, grade II*, with details at: LinkExternal link
The hall has a 16th century core with 17th and 18th century additions and a 19th century main front. Built for the Le Fleming baronets, the house is now owned by the Diocese of Carlisle and is a Christian retreat and conference centre although it also operates as a hotel.
