This photo taken from Argyle Street, shows the east side of the ornate glass walled railway bridge with the wording CENTRAL STATION fixed on it. Glasgow Central Station itself was opened on Friday 1st August 1879. At one time, this bridge was known as the 'Hielandman's Umbrella'. To the right of the photo in front of the bridge is the Grant Arms public house.
