This bronze statue, by sculptor Allan Sly, was unveiled by former prime minister Sir John Major in 2015. It depicts one of Surrey's finest cricketers and a native of Woking. A similar statue on the other side of the canal depicts Alec's twin brother Eric batting - see TQ0059 : Eric Bedser
