Glasgow bridges [10]

The tidal weir controls the level of the water upstream. The weir comprises moving sluice gates and two parallel bridges carrying pipes. Although there is a footbridge, there is no public access. The abutments and piers were built in 1901. The bridges and gates were constructed in 1949. The weir failed in 2017 and severe damage was caused to the river banks - see Link
