Glasgow bridges [17]
Glasgow bridges [17]
The footbridge crosses the River Clyde between Clyde Street and South Portland Street in a single suspended span of some 414 feet. Built in 1951 to replace an earlier timber bridge and rebuilt in 1871 to reduce the camber. Much of the original wrought-iron work was replaced by steel in 1926. See NS5864 : Glasgow bridges [18].
