The church of St Mary has parts dating from the 12th century to the 16th century with alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries. Built on the site of an earlier Saxon church, it was probably built by the Normans circa 1110. In the North aisle are three Norman columns, similar to ones in Durham Cathedral, with a diamond pattern on the stone. There was significant restoration in 1866. Listed, grade I, with details at: Link
