This is part of NS5061 : Hawkhead Woodland, and the view is from further along the path whose start is shown in that picture (close to the former location of the South Lodge mentioned below).

Tongues Hill: "This name applies to a narrow strip of ground planted with forest and fir trees between South Lodge and Hurlethill Plantation" [OS Name Books, c.1856]. There are now many rowan trees beside this part of the path. Also, at the time when the OS Name Books were being written, "firs" could mean conifers in general.
