Number 58 Main Street has an early 19th century front on an older building. The shopfront and doorway with their Doric pilasters are very dignified. Some original internal features service. The stonework on the upper part of the building gleams in the early morning sun. Listed, grade II, with details at: Link

Kirkby Lonsdale is a small town that developed at a crossing of the River Lune. Granted a market charter in 1227, the town at one time had 29 inns and alehouses of which several survive. The town is rich in historic buildings with over 150 listed.
