The works were open to the public as part of the Doors Open Days Scotland weekend. Despite torrential rain, the tour was fully booked, and we were shown around the site by the staff from Veolia, who operate the site on behalf of Scottish Water.

Allanfearn Wastewater Treatment Works
Allanfearn treats the wastewater from Inverness, Culloden, and North Kessock, over 47,000 people. On average it receives flows of over 250 litres per second. It also has sludge brought in from other sites, including Fort William.
Allanfearn is operated by Veolia, on behalf of Scottish Water.
