Approaching the Allt Cl on the ascent of the Bealach Dearg
The road is about to get steep again if heading north. The hill is Carn Liath (862m).

The Bealach Dearg is one of the great Mounth Roads, connecting Braemar with Tomintoul, ideal for moving whisky and probably popular in the smuggling days. No doubt Moray cattle walked this way as well.
