Information board on Knockniehourie
Information board on Knockniehourie
A strange place to find an information board! The board placed beside the Southern Upland Way on the top of Knockniehourie provides information about various man made interventions in the landscape. The aim of the board (I think) was to try and justify the construction of the wind farm on Balmurrie Fell (seen in the distance) by likening it to the much earlier human developments in the area, including burial mounds, sheep folds and a nearby 18th Century lead mine.
