SD5886 : Rough grazing near Crosslands

taken 3 months ago, 3 km from Old Hutton, Cumbria, Great Britain

Rough grazing near Crosslands
Rough grazing near Crosslands
Part of small area of Access Land covering an unnamed fell.
The complex of small streams is obvious.
A ruined wall crosses the area, with small enclosures incorporated at frequent intervals (about 80m apart). Presumably, these are shooting butts. One is just visible about one third down from the top of the photo.
The wall forms part of the parish boundary between Old Hutton & Holmescales and Preston Patrick.
Viewed from directly above. The scale is about 125m across the photo.
