Excavating a stony mound, Fawdon Hill
Excavating a stony mound, Fawdon Hill
One of three stony mounds that were investigated by excavation. This one turned out to be geology rather than archaeology. The sandstone bedrock appears to have been tilted almost vertically.

Digging two more stony mounds proved much more interesting: NY8993 : Excavating a stony mound, Fawdon Hill and NY8993 : Excavating a stony mound, Fawdon Hill
